I explore the possibilities of narratives, visual puns and elaborate doodles. It is better to be inspired by sad, tender and funny thoughts rather than by rational ideas of what to paint. I meander through a piece hoping to discover things that I cannot imagine (while awake). I paint in order to see. I can only transcend the medium through the process of building up the paint and breaking it down. Pieces of a story appear and as these images become too candid, I must sublimate them until formal aspects of composition, color, form and line fall into place. This process is a repetitive digression until the work is humbly revealed. In the end, there might be a story, but it is far off and a little fuzzy.
