By exploring my own interior landscape, I seek to wrap my heart around the complexities of our times and induce reflection. I'm currently working on a series of Beats — pictured here — bite-sized rhythmic elements of the psyche; Pulses, bursts of presence; and Combinations, fields of color with tonal influence.
These pieces aim to convey a truth that our realities can both trap and free us, depending on our orientation. My belief is that change occurs through shifts of perception, which lead to shifts in action. I also believe that through intimacy we gain insight to "other" and thus learn ways to mend, renew, or reweave the fabric of relation.
In addition to painting, I am a graphic facilitator in the field of organizational learning and a volunteer for local arts initiatives. I hold a BFA in painting and a BA in art history from Cornell University, and exhibit my work in the greater Boston area.
