Statement
I am a violinist and former music teacher. My classical music training informs my visual art making process, in terms of structure and emotive ideas. My most recent work is a series of charcoal and pastel drawings. I always work from observation, usually looking at mundane or unfamiliar objects. Looking at a reference provides concrete information that I can use. Each drawing is intended to imply both kinetic energy and weight.
