GIGAX (b. 1994) lives and works in Boston, Massachusetts, and comes from Zurich, Switzerland.

GIGAX constructs autonomous universes where imagined territories unfold as modern fairy tales shaped by postfeminist thought. These non-linear worlds are populated by waggish creatures inhabiting shifting hierarchies that subtly question patriarchal structures. Set in apocalyptic un-places, the works reflect the climate crisis while simultaneously imagining alternative ecologies and speculative ecosystems.

Recycled cardboard forms the basis of the work, transformed through layered pastel pigments in a process of upcycling. The material carries memory; surfaces accumulate time, and imagery emerges through tactile sedimentation. Pigment, texture, and support coalesce into atmospheric landscapes that hover between construction and decay.

Through installations and puppetry, these environments extend into immersive constellations, drawing viewers into parallel cosmologies where narrative, perception, and space converge, blurring fiction and reality into a critical reflection on the present.
